In hopes of of preventing of trauma, any lasting emotional damage to those seniors and children, by easing them away from sliding into a state of shock.
The Maryland fire, police and Ems departments responds to approximately 6000 per month, ( in our city alone) and many of these calls involve seniors and young children. When emergency medical technicians give these teddy bears you have donated to injured or sick seniors and children, It always brings a hugs of hope into their lifes.
Our Mission is to help dry the tears of children and lonely seniors through out Maryland, who have been abused, traumatized or hurt. By gifting a new teddy bear, hopefully brings a little comfort, happiness and hugs of hope - one bear at a time.
Teddy Bears help children & seniors In the great scheme of things, perhaps a teddy bear given to a traumatized child or senior won’t change the world.
It won’t end world poverty, illiteracy, crime or any of 1000 other plagues that afflict us all.
But maybe it can make one life a little bit better, and another and another.
If it can ease, if only for a moment, the trauma, shock and often times brutality that emergency service workers encounter all too often, giving teddy bears to kids and even seniors in emergency situations is totally a worthwhile activity.
